The Hoops are known to have been on the lookout for a new centre-back for sometime now and the 20-year-old appears to fit the bill, with his current club Ajax Cape Town confirming the transfer earlier this week.
And despite Rodgers refusing to confirm the deal was done and dusted, the Northern Irishman did give his take on Coetzee, and confirmed he was on his way and would be a signing for the club’s future:
"He's an outstanding young player."

Not only is Coetzee a full South African international but he is also the youngest-ever player to play for his country, making his debut just five days before his 18th birthday in an African Cup of Nations qualifier against Congo in 2014.
He definitely sounds like a player with a whole load of potential, and after qualifying for the Champions League earlier today, it’s not been a bad day for Hoops fans.
