Brendan Rodgers insists Stuart Armstrong’s contract situation has affected him this season.
The Celtic manager spoke tonight after his side’s 1-0 win over Partick Thistle at Firhill.
It was an important win for the Hoops as they continue their unbeaten run and prepare to play Astana in the Champions League next week.
But one of the more interesting points of Rodgers’ post-match comments didn’t concern the performance or the result, it concerned Armstrong.
He started on the bench again tonight, continuing an early season that has seen him out of the team more than he’s been in it.
And Rodgers believes his contract situation needs to be resolved so he can get back to the form which made him so important last season:
"It needs to be resolved one way or the other."

Armstrong is into his final season as a Celtic player and all suggestions so far are that the player and club are nowhere near an agreement.
He may still see his future away from Glasgow, but it sounds like Rodgers wants a decision one way or another before the summer transfer window ends.
Celtic fans – does Armstrong look affected by the speculation?
