Video: Chelsea’s Alvaro Morata Misses Absolute Sitter Against Spurs

Alvaro Morata started his first-ever Premier League match for Chelsea this afternoon, and within a few minutes, he’d made a massive impact on proceedings – by missing a sitter.

The former Real Madrid striker was on the bench for last week’s opener against Burnley, but was included in the starting XI against Spurs at Wembley today.

As we told you before kick-off, the Chelsea supporters were slightly baffled by Antonio Conte’s team selection, with six defenders and two defensive midfielders chosen to start.

And if the Italian was hoping to grab an early goal and then shut up shop, then he was probably delighted when he see Morata meet the ball whilst unmarked in the area – only for the Spaniard to fluff his lines:

When you pay almost £70 million for a footballer, you’d probably expect him to at least hit the target from there, right?

What do you think?
