Video: Kris Boyd Tells How Walter Smith Hooked Him at Half Time of Cup Final After ‘Too Warm For Fitba’ Complaint

Kris Boyd has told how Walter Smith hooked him at half time of Rangers‘ Scottish Cup Final win over Falkirk in 2009 after he complained it was ‘too warm for fitba’.

The Kilmarnock striker spoke to Si Ferry recently as part of his open-goal.co.uk Si Ferry Meets series and told this hilarious story about why he was substituted at half-time ot the Hampden showpiece eight years ago.

According to Boyd, he was never really on the end of a Smith rant, but did lose his Cup Final place early after the former Rangers manager heard the hitman complain about the heat at the national stadium:

That’s a brilliant reason for losing your place in the team – and one fans should never have heard of up until Boyd’s interview with Ferry.

The first episode of the interview was published earlier this week and the second part is due to follow later today at 5pm.

Let’s hope there are more golden revelations like this one from Boyd.
