Liverpool may have secured a precious 2-1 victory over Hoffenheim in their Champions League qualifer tonight but Mark Uth scored a sublime consolation for the hosts.
18-year-old Trent Alexander-Arnold opened the scoring for Liverpool, as the defender scored an fabulous free-kick on his full debut for the club.
James Milner doubled Liverpool’s lead in the second half, with the Premier League side looking dangerous throughout proceedings.
And while the result means Jurgen Klopp’s side take a valuable lead into next week’s second leg at Anfield, Uth scored a stunning goal for the Bundesliga outfit that caused a bit of panic among the Liverpool faithful.
A long diagonal ball from the right sailed over the Liverpool defence, and with Dejan Lovren playing Uth onside, the 25-year-old executed a perfect first-touch before drilling the ball beyond Simon Mignolet:

Despite the scoreline, Liverpool looked good value for their lead and will be feeling confident ahead of the second leg.
