Reina and Godin were representing for their respective clubs in the semi-final of the Audi Cup, when Godin was shown a second yellow card for a rash challenge on Napoli’s new signing, Adam Ounas.
The Uruguay international has earned a reputation as one of the toughest tacklers in the game – becoming an on-field representation of Diego Simeone‘s fiery characteristics as a head coach.
However, it appears ex-Liverpool stopper Reina felt Godin had crossed a line after he scythed down 20-year-old Ounas when the ball was going out of play.
Reina, who was a reported transfer target for Newcastle United earlier in the window, approaches Godin before pushing and shouting at the 31-year-old:
