Video: Simon Mignolet Saved One of the Worst Penalties Ever vs Hoffenheim

Liverpool goalkeeper Simon Mignolet hasn’t always looked the most confident between the sticks, but he’s done just enough to stop an awful penalty from Hoffenheim striker Andrej Kramaric tonight.

The Reds are currently taking on the Bundesliga side in the first-leg of their Champions League qualifier – with the score 0-0 after 30 minutes.

However, Liverpool defender Dejan Lovren nearly handed the hosts a simple opener, after he clumsily challenged ex-Arsenal winger Serge Gnabry in the box.

The referee immediately pointed to the penalty spot, however, Mignolet was able to save Kramaric’s tame effort:

Jurgen Klopp’s side have struggled to grow into the game in the first-half, despite being so close to going a goal behind, with Hoffenheim currently enjoying the majority of possession.

However, with speedsters Sadio Mane and record signing Mohamed Salah in the line-up, the score line could change in the blink of an eye for the Premier League visitors.
