Brendan Rodgers Says Hibs Have Been Celtic’s Toughest Domestic Test

Brendan Rodgers insists Hibs have been Celtic‘s toughest domestic test this season so far.

The Hoops manager and his side were in danger of losing their unbeaten run domestic run when John McGinn scored his second of the afternoon late on in their Scottish Premiership clash at Celtic Park this afternoon.

Callum McGregor had given the home side the lead in the first half, but McGinn equalised for the Hibees before belting home a second not long after.

Celtic’s 57-game unbeaten run was undoubtedly in danger, however McGregor scored his second of the game to ensure the champions got the draw to take their run to 58 games.

Asked post-match if Hibs are the toughest test they’ve faced in domestic competition this season, Rodgers had no doubts:

St Johnstone are the only other team to take points from Celtic this season, earning a 1-1 draw in Glasgow back in August.

But it’s Hibs who Rodgers is most impressed with and that must be a big boost for Lennon and Hibs as they move forward this season.
