Celtic Supporters Shortlisted For FIFA Fan Award

Celtic‘s support has been nominated for the annual FIFA Fan Award, which recognises ‘outstanding fan moments or gestures’ throughout the last 12 months.

The Hoops fanbase has been nominated alongside Borussia Dortmund’s fans, as well as supporters of Danish side FC Copenhagen, as the game’s governing body announced on their official website earlier today.

The Fan Award was only introduced by FIFA last year, with Dortmund and Liverpool supporters winning the gong after their joint rendition of You’ll Never Walk Alone to mark the 27th anniversary of the Hillsborough disaster before a Europa League tie.

According to FIFA, this year’s trio of finalists have been put together by a ‘panel of experts’ and fans can now actually vote online to decide who comes out on top in the poll.

Celtic striker Moussa Dembele was also celebrating a nomination today, with his strike against St. Johnstone from February of this year making the final shortlist to win the prestigious Puskás Award.
