Celtic’s Olivier Ntcham Describes Tie Against Boyhood Club PSG as ‘Close to a Dream’

Celtic’s Olivier Ntcham Describes Tie Against Boyhood Club PSG as ‘Close to a Dream’

Celtic are gearing up for the start of their Champions League campaign against Paris Saint-Germain tomorrow night, and the prospect of hosting European football’s aristocrats has Olivier Ntcham chomping at the bit.

The French Under-21 international is set to make his competitive debut in the competition’s group stages against Neymar and co and will come up against a few familiar faces.

As a boy, Ntcham played against PSG’s new £162 million signing Kylian Mbappé and he seems pretty excited about coming across the explosive teenager now they’re both all grown up.

Speaking via French news outlet Canal, Ntcham kept it short and sweet during his press conference this afternoon, but said: “I am very excited. I was supporter of this team.

“It’s very close to being a dream to play against Paris.

“Neymar? Money no longer counts once on the ground.

“Mbappé is a very good player. I hope he will continue to progress.”

Ntcham is likely to start at Celtic Park tomorrow evening after impressing in several of his early outings for the club, and apparently edging in front of Stuart Armstrong in the club’s midfield pecking order.

Will playing against his boyhood team help summon a big performance from the 21-year-old?

What do you think?
