The Brazilian midfielder was last week confirmed as a new player at the Mestalla after he agreed to go there on a temporary basis.
That’s despite being involved in United’s pre-season and appearing like he had a chance under Mourinho if form and fitness of other players went his way.
Instead, Pereira now won’t be in a United shirt again until next season – and Mourinho’s comments about the playmaker suggest even that might not happen.
When asked about the move to La Liga, Mourinho, per MARCA’s Chris Winterburn, said:
Mourinho on Pereira, "It can be considered a decision of a player who isn't ready to fight for something difficult. I'm disappointed."

That’s a pretty scathing assessment when you consider Pereira probably only left for Valencia because he didn’t think he’d get a chance at United.
And you could understand him thinking that considering he had no involvement in United’s start to the season, with Mourinho instead preferring a number of other players over him.
So is Mourinho right to criticise Pereira when it’s clear Paul Pogba, Nemanja Matic, Michael Carrick, Ander Herrera and Marouane Fellaini are all in front of him in the midfield pecking order?
We’re not so sure!
