Patrick Roberts Reckons Kieran Tierney Might Have a Celtic Duvet

Patrick Roberts has risked the wrath of his good pal Kieran Tierney – by joking that the talented left-back probably goes to sleep in Celtic bed sheets.

As anybody with a mere passing interest in Celtic will know by now, the two youngsters have struck up something of a blossoming bromance during Roberts’ stint on-loan from Manchester City at the Glasgow club.

When Roberts’ return for the 2017/18 campaign was confirmed last week, we told you how Tierney had tweeted his excitement, and now the English youth international has returned the favour by showering his buddy with praise.

Speaking in an interview with the Daily Record, via Read Celtic, Roberts said: “He’s enjoying his career at Celtic. Boys like us don’t do this as a job, he’s a fan of this club. Kieran has watched young boys here before and wanted to be like them. Now he’s living that dream.

“Fair play to him, he’s a top talent and a great lad. His feelings for Celtic have probably rubbed off on me because he loves this club.

“I think he’s got a Celtic duvet! I’m joking – he’ll kill me for saying that. But he does love Celtic, he has been born into it with his mum and dad.”

He probably will kill him for saying that but if anybody’s going to have a Celtic duvet it’d probably be Tierney.

Roberts’ second Celtic debut could come next weekend when the Hoops take on Hamilton in the Premiership – just a few days before hosting PSG in the Champions League.
