Renato Sanches is Being Brutally Trolled After His Underwhelming Swansea Debut

Renato Sanches made his eagerly-anticipated debut for Swansea City this afternoon – but his performance has led to onlookers slaughtering him, rather than praising him.

The 20-year-old Portugal international has joined the Premier League side on a season-long loan from Bayern Munich, after he struggled to get into the German side’s first-team last season.

After his swashbuckling displays for his country in last season’s European Championships, a lot of fans probably expected Sanches to cruise through this afternoon’s fixture against Newcastle, but his passing was constantly wayward and he struggled to fully adapt to the hectic pace of the match.

Midway through the second-half, he was hauled off by manager Paul Clement – and, for his own sake, he should probably steer clear of Twitter for the next day or two:

Quite a strong reaction, eh?

Was he really that poor this afternoon? And shouldn’t a player so young be given a bit more leeway?
