Video: Brilliant Roberts Assist Sets up Leigh Griffiths For Celtic’s Second at Ibrox

Celtic striker Leigh Griffiths scored his seventh goal of the season this afternoon against Rangers – but he had Patrick Roberts to thank for an inch-perfect assist.

The Hoops travelled to the home of their bitter rivals as massive favourites but struggled to impose themselves to any great affect in a frantic and physical first-half.

However, things changed drastically after the half-time break, with Tom Rogic coolly firing his side ahead in the 49th minute.

Rangers rallied and looked dangerous for a spell afterwards, but the luxury of a goal meant Celtic could play on the break, and soon paid dividends when Roberts’ brilliant pass picked out Leigh Griffiths, who excellently slipped the ball past Wes Foderingham:

The Scotland international has cemented himself as one of Celtic’s most important players, and it’s goals like this that prove his worth to the side.

What do you think of the finish, and just how good was Roberts’ pass?
