Virgil van Dijk has tipped Liverpool to win the Champions League this season.
The Southampton defender has only returned to his club’s squad after his summer links with Liverpool and Manchester City led to him being frozen out by first team manager Mauricio Pellegrino.

But now he’s backing both those teams to get success in Europe this season.
Van Dijk attended the FIFA 18 launch event last week and was asked by squawka.com who he fancied to go on and win the competition.
This was his answer: “I think Liverpool and Man City maybe.
“You never know. It’s always going to be difficult and [it’s] a different style of play – European nights are always different.
“Anything can happen, especially if you are the big English clubs who are in the Champions League at the moment.”
Maybe van Dijk went with both of those teams to help him stay popular with fans of the club ahead of a potential move to one of them next summer?
Liverpool got their Champions League campaign off to a disappointing start when they blew a second-half lead to draw 2-2 with Sevilla at home.
Manchester City fared a bit better though, beating Feyenoord 4-0 in Holland.
Jurgen Klopp’s men take on Spartak Moscow tomorrow night while City play Shakhtar Donetsk at the same time.
