Watford winger Richarlison has only been in the Premier League for a mere few weeks, but he’s already become something of a cult hero to the club’s long suffering fans.
And he’s hoping one big Hornets fan in particular can fulfil one of his dreams by writing a hit song about his exploits on the pitch.
The leggy 20-year-old arrived at Watford last month from Brazilian club Fluminense for a fee of around £11 million, and it wasn’t too long before he was making his presence felt in English football.
Given the No.11 jersey, Richarlison scored the winning goal against Bournemouth on his debut, and after revealing himself to be a massive fan of Watford’s honorary president Elton John, he’s hoping he might feature on the crooner’s next album – maybe.
Speaking in an interview with Goal.com, he said: “I hope to get to know him very soon, I still haven’t had the honour. I want to give him a hug.
“Gomes says that Elton John always goes to games, that he likes to watch the players. He has a lot of love for the club, right?
“He is a musician and has a lot of love for Watford, so it’s okay to dream about a special song in my honour. It would be interesting, who knows!”
It certainly would be interesting – there is absolutely no denying that!
What have you made of Richarlison’s impact in English football, and are we likely to see him alongside John soon?
