The 25-year-old moved from Aberdeen to Rangers during the most recent transfer window, and has enjoyed a mixed start to life as a first-team player at Ibrox.
Jack started the season with a string of decent displays, but three red cards in his opening 14 matches as a Gers midfielder has overshadowed his performances, and perhaps even cast doubt on his temperament to play at the highest level.
His latest dismissal came after a ridiculous clash with Kilmarnock’s Kirk Broadfoot last Wednesday night, but the Daily Record are claiming Scotland caretaker boss Malky Mackay has opted to call-up Jack for next month’s friendly with Holland at Pittodrie – prompting a bit of an outcry on social media:
Ryan Jack getting called up for Scotland squad… how far did my clock go back!! Absolute joke.

This is what is wrong with Scottish football. Ryan Jack signs for rangers plays mediocre gets sent of 3 times and gets called up by Scotland

— Declan (@DonsDeclan) October 29, 2017
Struggling to believe that Ryan Jack, in current form anyway, is worthy of a call up to the international squad.
— Pie and Bovril (@pieandbov) October 29, 2017
Fuck Off is Ryan jack actually in the Scotland squad ?, swear he’s had more red cards than tackles completed ?

Calling up Ryan Jack is enough reason alone for Malky Mackay not to be given the Scotland job

Ryan Jack in Scotland squad is one of the many reasons I wouldn’t look out my window if Scotland were playing in back garden.

I’m absolutely fine with Ryan Jack in the Scotland squad. The more goals Holland scud us by, the better. Get rid of Mackay ASAP.
— Matt Greer (@JussiTheCat) October 29, 2017
Quite the reaction, eh?
Is Jack getting called-up really that much of a poor decision?
What do you think?
