Celtic supporters have been handed the prestigious FIFA Fan Award for 2017 at a glitzy bash in London tonight.
The Hoops fans were strong favourites to take home the distinguished prize after a concerted effort from their followers on social media to vote on the official FIFA website.
Specifically, Celtic’s fanbase have won the award for their tribute to the Lisbon Lions on the 50th anniversary of the club winning their first and only European Cup back in 1967.
As shown in the main image above and clip below, fans put on a remarkable 360-degree card show encompassing their entire Parkhead stadium, before going on to beat Hearts in their final Premiership match of the season, and complete an unbeaten league campaign:
Also in the running were supporters of Borussia Dortmund and FC Copenhagen but neither side could match the votes polled by the Scottish champions.
What do you think of the news? How prestigious should this be considered?
