Celtic’s Fans Are Hammering Cristian Gamboa & Craig Gordon For Bayern Display

Celtic were well and truly put to the sword by Bayern Munich tonight and it appears to be Cristian Gamboa and Craig Gordon who are taking the brunt of the blame amongst fans.

The Hoops knew they were heavy underdogs as the travelled to Bavaria for their third Champions League group tie this evening and that proved to be correct pretty much as soon as the first whistle sounded.

Thomas Muller pounced to give his side the lead after just 17 minutes, before the impressive Joshua Kimmich headed in the second after 29 minutes.

Throughout the first period, Gamboa really struggled, playing Muller onside for the first goal and getting his positioning all wrong for the second. Aside from that, he was absolutely torn to shreds by Bayern’s jet-heeled winger Kingsley Coman.

Gordon, meanwhile, couldn’t seem to get his kicking right, and one of his fluffed clearances led to a Bayern corner – from which Mats Hummels headed in the third.

It’s probably fair to say supporters weren’t best pleased with either player on social media:
