Rangers interim-manager Graeme Murty believes whoever is brought in to replace Pedro Caixinha is “a very fortunate guy” to be taking on one of the best jobs in the country.
Caixinha was sacked yesterday after the club’s Betfred Cup semi-final loss to Motherwell was followed by a dramatic stalemate with Kilmarnock at Ibrox.
Rangers currently occupy fourth spot in the league table, eight points adrift of their Glasgow rivals, Celtic.
However, despite the chances of toppling the champions appearing slim and with a lack of European football this season, Murty still believes the role as Rangers manager is “one of the stellar jobs in British football”
Murty was speaking ahead of tomorrow’s early kick-off against Hearts, which will be the Englishman’s fourth game in charge of the first team as he filled in when Mark Warburton left the club last season.
He told the media that he will occupy his position as interim manager for as long as the club require him, while adding that Kenny Miller has been re-instated to the squad for the game at Murrayfield,
Most interestingly, however, was Murty’s description of the Rangers job, which will surely only endear him further with the club’s supporters:
GM: Whoever gets this job is a very fortunate guy. It’s one of the stellar jobs in British football.

Who would you like to see step in and take the reigns at Ibrox?
Could Murty be a serious contender if he starts to pick up points?
