Arsenal secured their third victory in three Europa League matches with a win over Red Star Belgrade tonight, giving Jack Wilshere the perfect opportunity to aim a jibe at Watford striker Troy Deeney.
The Gunners dropped three precious points to Deeney’s Watford on Saturday night, having lost 2-1 at Vicarage Road.
And the 29-year-old Hornets skipper purposefully rubbed salt in the wounds after the match when he claimed the defeat showed Arsenal lacked “cojones”.
And with Olivier Giroud netting the winner in the final five minutes in Serbia, Wilshere immediately took to Instagram after the final whistle to have another pop at Deeney.
The England international wrote, “Great character, I told you we have some ?…”:
Wilshere appeared back to his best against Red Star, playing an instrumental role in Arsenal’s stunning goal and having completed 30 of the 35 passes he attempted.
