Video: Jason Holt Scores First Rangers Goal in a Year Against Kilmarnock

Jason Holt scored his first goal for Rangers in more than a calendar year tonight to fire his side ahead against Kilmarnock.

The midfielder has struggled to get into the Gers first-team this season, and often has to be content with a place on the subs’ bench, but he definitely took his opportunity well this evening at Ibrox.

Mexican attacker Carlos Pena was forced to miss the Premiership clash after picking up a knee injury in the cup defeat against Motherwell on Sunday, presenting Holt with a chance to stake his claim.

And just before half-time, with the match evenly poised at 0-0, Holt cleverly finished from the edge of the box – and broke Killie hearts in the process:

Nice finish, eh?

With Pena struggling for form badly, should Pedro Caixinha seriously consider starting Holt more often? Or is the former Hearts man simply a decent squad player?
