Leigh Griffiths Thinks Gordon Strachan Would Have Taken Scotland to Euro 2020

Leigh Griffiths Thinks Gordon Strachan Would Have Taken Scotland to Euro 2020

With Scotland choosing to part company with manager Gordon Strachan this afternoon, Celtic striker Leigh Griffiths has cast serious doubt on the SFA’s decision.

Griffiths made his full international debut under Strachan – albeit after he persisted with the likes of Chris Martin, Steven Naismith and Stephen Fletcher.

However, despite struggling to get much game time for the national side until final few games of the campaign, Griffiths has still posted a glowing tribute to Strachan on his Instagram.

Griffiths wrote how the former Hoops boss “would have taken us to the euros in 2020” had he signed a new deal and that there’s “not a better man for the job” in his eyes:

Is Griffiths right to stand by his now former manager?

Or do his comments immediately increase the pressure on whoever is chosen to succeed the 60-year-old?

Either way, have a look at our top contenders for the job, here.
