Caixinha was sacked yesterday afternoon, following a run of poor results, with Graeme Murty set to take charge for tomorrow’s match against Hearts.
And while the shortlist for the Rangers job includes the likes of Derek McInnes, Alex McLeish and Ronald de Boer, Amoruso is also being mentioned… if only by the Ibrox faithful.
The 46-year-old spent six glory-filled years in Scotland, winning nine major honours including domestic trebles in the 1999 and 2003.
It seems incredibly unlikely that Amoruso would be asked in for an interview, especially considering he hasn’t made the leap into professional coaching in any capacity.
However, that hasn’t stopped the Italian from causing a bit of mischief on Twitter by re-Tweeting the following:
That being said, it’s difficult to argue with the premise that Amoruso is the type of character the Rangers backroom staff is calling out for.
