With the USA desperately needing a victory over Panama to keep their World Cup dreams alive last night, Christian Pulisic stepped up and single-handedly inspired his team-mates to a sensational 4-0 win.
The Borussia Dortmund star was head and shoulders above every player at the Orlando City Stadium – a fact which didn’t go unnoticed by his legion of fans on social media.
Pulisic scored and turned creator for ex-Sunderland striker Jozy Altidore in the first 45 minutes, meaning the 19-year-old has had a hand in 11 of the 16 goals scored in qualifying:

The dominant performance from Bruce Arena’s side should mean qualification will be rubber stamped if they can beat Trinidad on Tuesday.
However, despite Altidore scoring two and Pulisic being substituted early in the second half, it was the winger from the Bundesliga who rightfully earned all the praise on Twitter.
The best of which had to be when ex-USA international Landon Donovan used #PulisicForPresident:

Tonight was the night Christian Pulisic became The Man. Feels a bit like we all just attended his Bar Mitzvah. And it was soccer-themed?

Pulisic is the best player USA has ever had. Don't know if that's telling for Pulisic' abilities or the alarming rate USA produces player.

Pulisic’s league form this season makes for more modest reading, having scored twice and created one assist in six games for Dortmund.
However, if he keeps churning out performances like this one for the United States, there’s no telling how far he could go…
