McLeish was originally in the frame to replace Mark Warburton as Gers boss back in February.
However, the board decided to go with the unknown quality of Pedro Caixinha instead, with the Portuguese ultimately receiving his P45 yesterday afternoon.
And now, with the Rangers job yet again up for grabs, McLeish is being considered among the favourites to take the post.
Although the 58-year-old has admitted he’s yet to officially throw his hat into the ring.
He told BBC Radio 5 Live tonight, “They know where I am.
“It’s a huge club and they’re not in a good situation and haven’t been for a few years now”
"Rangers know where I am, they've got my number"
Will Alex McLeish be returning to Ibrox as manager?

He added, “But they’re back in the Premiership which first and foremost they have to start winning.
“They are a unique team along with Celtic.”
So, Rangers fans, would you be willing to accept McLeish as Caixinha’s replacement?
The former Scotland boss was last in work back in 2016, during an ill-fated stint in charge of Egyptian club Zamalek.
