Anthony Stokes got Hibs back into their Betfred Cup semi-final against Celtic – but should he have had a penalty in the first place?
The Hibees striker got the opportunity to get on the scoresheet 20 minutes into the second half when referee Kevin Clancy punished Dedryck Boyata for a tackle on Martin Boyle.
At first glance, it didn’t look like a penalty – and the replays confirmed:

Stokes stepped up to send Craig Gordon the wrong way in the Celtic goal and make it 2-1 to the holders.
But Moussa Dembele restored their two-goal lead shortly after, tapping home after Scott Sinclair’s sclaffed shot found him free in the six-yard box.
Hibs have cut that lead again, with Oli Shaw’s nice finish, though, and it’s the Easter Road side who are kicking on trying to find at least an equalising goal before full-time.
If they can, you just never know what could happen in extra time.
