Nicholas was speaking on Sky Sports News following Celtic’s 3-0 defeat to Bayern Munich in the Champions League last night.
And while the 55-year-old claimed Rodgers has “more than paid his way” with the amount of money he has brought in through the Champions League, he questioned the Irishman’s long-term future at the club.
Nicholas, who won two league titles at Celtic Park before moving on to Arsenal and Aberdeen, believes Celtic are “far too good” for other Scottish teams – something which could be their downfall with Rodgers:

Will Celtic be able to persuade Rodgers to commit his long-term future to the club with the promise of domestic success and European competiton?
Or will it be a serious struggle given how much he has achieved in a short space of time?
