John Collins looked delighted as a fan spotted him in the street and started shouting ‘the passing, the moving, the tempo’ at him.
The former Scotland midfielder looks like he was in Edinburgh city centre yesterday ahead of appearing on Sky Sports’ coverage of the national team’s must-win qualifier against Slovakia at Hampden last night.
Collins was his usual self on the punditry panel, talking a lot about about how Gordon Strachan’s players would have to approach the game. We’re pretty sure he said ‘passing’, ‘moving’ and ‘tempo’ at some point.
One supporter is obviously aware of Collins’ preference for those words when talking football and decided to shout them at him after spotting the former Hibs manager yesterday.
And, to be fair to Collins, he took it very well:

What about the one finger in the air from Collins too? Brilliant.
Collins was part of the Sky team that covered Scotland’s dramatic late win over Slovakia to keep their World Cup hopes alive.
Martin Skrtel turned the ball into his own net in the 88th minute to send the Tartan Army mental and set up Sunday’s final qualifier with Slovenia as a must-win to secure a World Cup playoff spot.
