Video: Marcus Rashford Scores Bizarre Free-Kick For Man Utd Against Benfica

Marcus Rashford scored for Manchester United this season, but the strike might well go down as one of the weirdest goals the young Englishman has scored in his career so far.

Rashford and his United colleagues travelled to Lisbon to face the Portuguese champions knowing victory would all but secure a safe passage to the Champions League knockout stages.

But the first-half passed without much happening at all really, as Jose Mourinho’s side took up a defensive approach similar to the tactics employed against Liverpool at the weekend.

They did, however, manage to score the decisive goal in the 64th minute via Rashford – but the ball didn’t exactly hit the back of the net:

The goalkeeper in question is Mile Svilar, an 18-year-old making only his second appearance for the Benfica first-team tonight – and he’s the youngest-ever goalkeeper to play in the Champions League.

Poor lad, eh? It might take him a little while to forget about this clanger.
