Video: Martin Skrtel is a Scotland Hero After Own Goal

Martin Skrtel is now a Scotland hero after his own goal kept our World Cup hopes alive.

The Slovakian defender had played well all night against a Scotland team that had attacked from the first minute right.

His job was made even tougher when Robert Mak was sent off in the first half, but coped well to avoid conceding and potentially hurting his country’s World Cup playoff chances.

That was until the 88th minute when he put Ikechi Anya’s cross into his own net to send Hampden wild:
