Mikael Lustig has handed Celtic a crucial opener in today’s League Cup semi-final against Hibs.
The Swede has slotted in at his favoured left-back position this afternoon, after being used as a make-shift centre-half against Bayern Munich in mid-week.
And the decision to move Lustig has reaped immediate rewards for Brendan Rodgers, as the 30-year-old managed to get on the end of Dedryck Boyata‘s knockdown.
Neil Lennon will be furious, however, as the chance came after Hibs failed to deal with a poor effort from Leigh Griffiths’ free-kick:

While an early goal will be exactly what the doctor ordered for Rodgers’ side, following a miserable defeat to Bayern at the Allianz Arena, Hibs find themselves in the unenviable position of having to come from behind at Hampden.
Do the Hibees have enough in their locker to break down the champions?
Or has Lustig’s early goal made it mission impossible for the Easter Road outfit?
