PSG may be without star signing Neymar for this evening’s Ligue 1 clash against Nice, but it’s still taken Edinson Cavani just three minutes to get on the score sheet.

Unai Emery’s side look a formidable prospect this season, despite finishing behind eventual champions Monaco in the last campaign.

Undoubtedly the signings of both Neymar and Kylian Mbappe have helped PSG’s profile, however, the form of Uruguay international Cavani has been equally impressive.

The former Napoli striker had scored 11 goals in 10 games prior to kick-off, including a last-minute equaliser against Marseille in his last league outing.

And with Neymar missing through suspension tonight, the pressure was firmly on Cavani’s shoulder, or should we say forehead…

Should PSG add to their lead, the Parisian side will strengthen their grasp on top spot, with Monaco already trailing by four points.
