With more than 17 years of top level experience under his belt, the game was very different when Everton defender Phil Jagielka first started his football career.
And while the 35-year-old has been a model professional throughout his spells at both the Toffees and Sheffield United, even Jagielka hasn’t been above a dressing room rollicking.
The England international sat down with Everton’s official YouTube channel this week and explored for an episode of “My Firsts”.
And while the majority of Jagielka’s answers appear to be pretty ‘vanilla’, the standout has to be his run-in with now Grimsby manager Russell Slade.
While Slade was caretaker manager at Sheffield United, he lost the plot with Jagielka after the defender took off his boots at half-time “just to get some feeling” back in his toes.
