Liverpool took the lead in their must-win Champions League clash with Maribor tonight after just three minutes, with Roberto Firmino finishing from close range.
The Reds went into the first of a double-header with the Slovenian champions knowing they really needed to take six points from six to resurrect their ambitions of making the last-16.
Given Jurgen Klopp’s men have won just one of their last eight games, the fixture looked like having the makings of a tricky trip.
But any Liverpool fears were soon put to rest in the early stages, with the in-form Mo Salah pouncing on a slack piece of defending – before putting it on a plate for Firmino:

That’s Firmino’s first goal in six matches – and he certainly looked like he enjoyed it, eh?
What do you think of Liverpool’s chances of doing something special in the Champions League this season?
