The Steelmen boss was speaking earlier today ahead of his side’s Scottish Premiership clash with Dundee at Dens Park tomorrow night.
His team have been criticised for their physical approach to beating Rangers on Sunday in the Betfred Cup semi-final, with Pedro Caixinha joined by several of his players in blasting Motherwell’s aggressive style.
Even Brendan Rodgers had something to say about the game, insisting the referee lacked authority on several challenges that endangered the players.
Now Robinson has had his chance to respond to those comments – but refused to get brought into a war of words, instead defending his players and making a point about Rangers having an almost identical foul count for the season so far compared to that of his team.
He said: “If we compare us to Rangers, I do that because we’ve played them, we’re very close in the league.
“In nine games, we’ve committed 115 fouls, they’ve committed 112. So I don’t think we’re a dirty side.”

Motherwell will now have one eye on next month’s final against Celtic at Hampden, but first they have to turn their attention to the Scottish Premiership, starting with tomorrow’s game against Dundee.
