Steven Gerrard’s Liverpool Under 18s team put their Burnley rivals to the sword yesterday.
The Anfield legend is in his first season in charge of the club’s youth team and he seems to be taking to it well judging by the start to their campaign.
They’re unbeaten in nine competitive games now across both England and Europe – showing Gerrard is not only looking like a good coach, but his players aren’t too bad either.
Liverpool’s youths took on Burnley yesterday afternoon hoping to stretch that unbeaten run to nine games.
And they put the Clarets to the sword with some breathtaking attacking play:
How good was that goal from the Liverpool number 11? His name is Liam Miller and he appears to be highly rated at Melwood.
Jurgen Klopp has promoted several young players to the club’s first team over recent seasons and he’ll no doubt be on the lookout for the next ones to make the step up.
We imagine working under Gerrard should definitely help some of the young talent make the breakthrough.
