Newcastle Legend Alan Shearer Takes Those Who Mock His Legacy on Twitter Very Seriously

Alan Shearer isn’t the sort of guy you want to poke fun at on Twitter, especially if you want a light-hearted airy fairy response from the former Newcastle United hit man.

The 47-year-old, a successful pundit on BBC’s Match of the Day, was the subject of a classic ‘caption this image’ Tweet this afternoon from @FootyAccums.

The picture showed the Premier League’s all-time record scorer looking sternly toward former Manchester United duo Gary Neville and David Beckham.

One fan comically replied that Shearer’s look was in reference to the ex-England international having rejected the chance to join United twice during his playing days:

Clearly oblivious to Shearer’s sharp tongue on social media, @FootyAccums replied by questioning what the former Southampton ace achieved after turning down Sir Alex Ferguson’s advances:

And to say Shearer was irritated by the comment appears to be an understatement, especially considering his no-nonsense reaction:

Probably not the wisest decision to question a frontman who dominated Premier League defences for over a decade!
