Australia fans are raving about Tom Rogic as they sit on the verge of the World Cup.
The Celtic midfielder was named in Ange Postecoglou’s starting XI for the second leg of their playoff against Honduras this morning.
And he’s produced the goods in a very impressive performance at ANZ Stadium in Sydney.
Rogic may have been substituted on the 77th-minute, but he won the free-kick that led to Mile Jedinak’s opening goal and put in an all-round display that had Aussie fans purring.
Here are just some of the Rogic supporters on Twitter this morning:
Rogic is undoubtedly a star player for club and country now – and will be hoping to have a strong campaign for Celtic before heading off to Russia next summer.
It’s some turnaround from the early part of his Hoops career when he hardly played and sat out games through injury under Neil Lennon.
He was integral for Ronny Deila before Brendan Rodgers took over at Celtic Park and he’s continued to be just as important under the Northern Irishman.
Jedinak got a hat-trick in today’s game, scoring from a free-kick and then two penalties to seal a 3-0 victory.
