Dave King Says Rangers Weren’t Wrong to Appoint Pedro Caixinha.. Gives Manager Search Update

Dave King says Rangers weren’t wrong to appoint Pedro Caixinha and has given an update on the club’s search for manager.

The Gers chairman is speaking at the club’s AGM today, the morning after Graeme Murty’s men beat Aberdeen 3-0 at Ibrox.

The AGM has become a big event over recent years and there’s only increased attention on this one as the club continue their search for a new manager.

It’s now been five weeks since Caixinha was sacked as first team boss after a disappointing start to the season and most probably expected an appointment to have been announced by now.

But the fans still wait for their new leader so King’s comments would be particularly interesting today.

He began by defending the decision to appoint Caixinha after Mark Warburton’s exit from the club, saying all new managers are a risk:

King did provide a short update on the manager search, saying they are targeting some managers who are currently contracted to other clubs:

Rangers made a number of signings under Caixinha in the summer, with the likes of Carlos Pena, Eduardo Herrera and Alfredo Morelos arriving.

But King believes the club hasn’t had value for money in the transfer market under their two previous managers:

He was asked about the decision to sell Barrie McKay to Nottingham Forest for £500,000 and admitted it was a mistake:

Rangers fans – what do you make of King’s AGM comments?
