Everton Fans Are Desperately Hoping Martin O’Neill Rumours Aren’t True

Martin O’Neill is the surprise name being strongly linked with the vacant manager’s job at Everton – but the club’s supporters really don’t seem keen on the ex-Celtic boss.

The Toffees have been searching for a new boss ever since sacking Ronald Koeman at the end of October, and interim manager David Unsworth’s chances were seemingly dashed on Thursday night as the club lost 5-1 at home to Atalanta in the Europa League.

And, as we told you earlier today, O’Neill is now odds on to take over at Goodison Park after he was backed-in to 4/6 with some bookies, after originally being as far out as 100/1 with some companies.

He might be an experienced coach with Premier League experience – but it seems a lot of fans would be dead-set against O’Neill’s appointment:

O’Neill is a hero to Leicester and Celtic fans, and did a pretty good job at Aston Villa too, whilst his time at Sunderland was probably a bit underwhelming.

But does he really merit this type of reaction? What do you think?
