Some Fans Are Not Having Ruben Loftus-Cheek Possibly Starting For England

Some fans are not having Ruben Loftus-Cheek possibly starting for England against Germany.

The Crystal Palace midfielder was a surprise inclusion in Gareth Southgate’s senior squad for upcoming friendlies against Germany and Brazil.

But you could see why the on-loan Chelsea man was called, with both games an ideal time to give some youngsters experience with the top team.

Did anyone expect Loftus-Cheek to actually start a game though? These fans certainly didn’t.

Loftus-Cheek has made just eight appearances for Palace since signing for them on loan in the summer and he’s been powerless to stop them sitting at the bottom of the English Premier League table after 11 games.

He’s scored no goals and only has one assist for Roy Hodgson’s men.

But, somehow, that’s good enough for England – and fans can’t believe it:

It’s hard to disagree with the reaction of most fans given Loftus-Cheek has done virtually nothing at senior level in his career.

He made his debut at Chelsea back in 2014, but made just 32 appearances for the Blues since then before moving on to Palace in search of regular first team football.

Maybe Loftus-Cheek will surprise us, though, and produce a performance against Germany that shows everyone he’s good enough for England.
