Kolo Toure Lights Up Piers Morgan on Twitter.. But is it Really Him?

Kolo Toure appeared to light up Piers Morgan on Twitter earlier today – but was it the real person sending the tweets?

The retired Ivory Coast defender is now working in Scotland as one of Brendan Rodgers’ coaches at Celtic and should be busy preparing for the Betfred Cup Final against Motherwell at Hampden this afternoon.

But it seems like he was more concerned about the Good Morning Britain presenter this morning, weighing in on a tweet about Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos.

James Blunt started it all, with the musician having a dig at Morgan for his sacking as Mirror editor in 2004 after published pictures of British soldiers abusing an Iraqi were revealed as fake.

For some reason, Kroos was aware of the exchange and liked Blunt’s tweet to Morgan. Morgan responded by telling the German international to ‘stay out of this’.

Morgan is a big Arsenal fan so is well aware of Invincible defender Toure – and he didn’t take long noticing this tweet earlier:

He responded with:

Leading to Toure to come back with:

Morgan then referenced some diet pills for some reason:

And then perhaps the best Toure tweet came in response to that:

As Morgan mentions in one of his final tweets in the exchange, this might not actually be the real Toure:

And we have our doubts too. This account may have over 200,000 followers, but it hadn’t tweeted in almost three months before piping up to Morgan.

Crucially, the account has no blue tick either and gives few indications that it’s the real man behind it.

Also, Celtic play in the Cup Final soon and you’d expect Toure to be keeping a low profile before being involved in such a big game with Rodgers’ team.

So, as good as it is to see Toure ripping Morgan on Twitter, it’s more likely a 15-year-old with a good sense of humour who’s happy to say what the majority think when it comes to the former newspaper editor.
