The Senegalese attacker picked up a hamstring injury while with his international team last month and he was expected to return to action a few weeks from now.
He did return to training yesterday, with Jurgen Klopp saying he looked very good.
But absolutely no one expected to see Mane named among the starting XI when this evening’s teams were revealed.
Mane will play alongside Roberto Firmino and Mo Salah in attack, providing a lot of quality and pace in the final third.
And while that’s a big boost for Liverpool, their fans can’t quite believe he’s back so quickly:

So, you can understand why Mane’s return is necessary for Klopp as he looks to put a strong run of form together.
