Manchester United’s First 280-Character Tweet is Brilliant

Manchester United’s first bash at using 280 characters on Twitter is brilliant.

The club joined Celtic and countless others in having a go at the 280-character limit after the social networking site appeared to roll it out across the board.

We told you earlier how the Scottish champions had to reference their 63-game unbeaten run when going to the limit for the first time.

Now United have followed them up with a brilliant tweet about David de Gea.

The Spanish goalkeeper is regularly producing world class saves for the Old Trafford side, leading to #DaveSaves being used on Twitter by the club’s official account as well as their fans.

But, with an increased character limit now, United might change that to #DavidSaves:

As you can see, that tweet is proving popular and we fancy it to pop more throughout the rest of this afternoon.

And we might get to see more #DavidSaves tweets when United are next in action against Newcastle at Old Trafford after the international break.
