The biggest talking points of a boring first half in the game involved Dembele both on the receiving end and dishing out of tough tackles.
The first involved Cedric Kipre early on, with the Motherwell man not punished for a high tackle on Dembele’s left leg outside the box.
Referee Craig Thomson deemed that a fair tackle and waved play on, to the anger of Celtic and their fans.
But minutes later Dembele was going into his book for a lunge on Carl McHugh – a tackle that looked very similar to the one he felt the force of from Kipre moments earlier.
Dembele managed to stay on the pitch, going on to net his side’s second from the penalty spot after half-time.
And he made a joke about the tackle when tweeting to celebrate the victory post-match:
Another trophy, another win. Almost lost my leg there ?? but we’re still unbeaten ?. On to the next one, thanks for your support Bhoys and Ghirls you were brilliant @celticfc ???

We can all laugh now – as no one was injured. Well, we can all laugh except from Kipre, who was sent off later in the game.
