A group of Rangers fans have spent the international weekend watching Carlisle United playing Yeovil Town – all just to get a glimpse of Clint Hill in action.
The veteran centre-half is currently playing for the English League One side after a spell with Rangers last season, and it seems the Englishman’s contribution whilst at Ibrox has turned him into something of a cult figure.
He scored a last-minute equaliser for Rangers against bitter rivals Celtic back in March, and was one of the Gers’ most consistent performers in an otherwise disappointing campaign.
However, whilst the arrival of Pedro Caixinha might’ve spelled the end of Hill’s stay in Glasgow, it didn’t spell the end for his love affair with the Rangers support.
Twitter user and Rangers fan Euan McCracken shared a snap on his Twitter profile of his encounter with Hill outside Carlisle’s Brunton Park, and the former QPR star seemed humbled by the encounter:
An absolute pleasure meeting you @clinthill29 ! Thank you for your time and your honesty #nosurrender #thatgoal ? pic.twitter.com/h5jMP8gYnd
