Roberto Firmino Sacrificed a Crazy Amount of Money By Not Stealing Mane’s Goal

Liverpool striker Roberto Firmino refused to steal Sadio Mane‘s goal against Stoke City last night – but the Brazilian actually sacrificed a whole lot of money in doing so.

Jurgen Klopp and his Reds side went to the Bet365 Stadium and romped to a 3-0 victory on Wednesday night thanks to Mane’s strike and a double from substitute Mo Salah.

The result leaves Liverpool fifth in the Premier League table, just four points off fourth-placed Arsenal, but Firmino might be worrying more about the digits in his bank balance this afternoon.

As he opened the scoring in the 17th minute, Mane watched on as the ball trickled towards the goal-line, and Firmino had ample opportunity to make it his own.

But he didn’t, and according to Football Leaks, via the Mirror, it cost him tens of thousands of pounds.

Apparently, Firmino earns a basic wage of £68,085-a-week, and makes an additional £1.1million in bonuses.

Allegedly, he earned £25,000 for each of his first five goals and between six and 10 he is said to earn £45,000, and £65,000 from 11 onward.

That means he passed up a whopping £45,000 in that generous moment – although we’re not feeling too sorry for him, to be honest!
