The Hoops winger had a quiet first-half, struggling to really make an impact against a resolute Motherwell defence.

But he was involved straight away in the second half, breaking beyond Kipre before going down to win a penalty and force Craig Thomson to send the Well defender off for what he deemed a pull in the box.

On first viewing, it looked like it could have been a penalty. But replays showed it wasn’t – and Sinclair went down with minimal contact.

That’s led to a lot of criticism for the Hoops winger:

Those views seem to be reflected across the board by most fans who seen the incident.

And you have to feel sorry for Motherwell fans as it’s effectively settled the game in Celtic’s favour – even with half an hour of the game to go.

James Forrest had just put Celtic 1-0 up minutes before Sinclair went down in the box and Kipre’s red card, along with Moussa Dembele’s finish from the spot, put the hosts out of sight.
