TalkSPORT’s Adrian Durham Didn’t Take Late Celtic Penalty Well Last Night

TalkSPORT’s Adrian Durham annoyed Celtic fans again last night with his reaction to their team getting a late penalty against Motherwell to extend their unbeaten run.

The Hoops were heading for their first defeat after a run of 66 games without losing in domestic football as the Steelmen led the game 1-0 thanks to Mikael Lustig’s 78th-minute own goal.

When news of the late Well goal broke, there was a sense of panic among some Celtic supporters while the rest of Scottish football hoped Motherwell would at last bring the unbeaten run to an end.

But Callum McGregor went down in the box just two minutes from time and Willie Collum pointed straight to the spot, giving Scott Sinclair the opportunity to slam home an equaliser and extend that unbeaten run.

The reaction to the penalty decision has been intense – and Durham is among those unhappy at it all.

He’s clashed with Hoops fans in the past, with this claim that Celtic will never be as big as Rangers eliciting a particularly strong response.

And now Durham has shown his displeasure before winding up supporters after last night’s game.

He tweeted this after Motherwell opened the scoring at Fir Park:

Then McGregor went down in the box and Collum pointed to the spot:

With Motherwell and Celtic facing off for the third time in a row on Saturday, Durham joked that Brendan Rodgers’ men have already been awarded a penalty in that game:

As you can see from the interaction on all three tweets, when Durham starts tweeting about Celtic it gets a big response from fans – although, admittedly, those aren’t all Hoops fans.
